From plastic to fabric

It is always a great pleasure when you find an innovation like Ecospun®. Ecospun® is a polyester fiber made 100% recycled plastic PET bottles. It can be used for making products from auto interiors, blankets, clothing, to carpets and much more. This fiber can also be combined with cotton or wool to create a different quality material. From 10 PET bottles one pound of Ecospun®fiber can be made without decreasing the Earth’s natural resources. I just wish more companies would use this in their products.

Sea jewelsI recently wrote about the crochet barriers reef. If you want to see more photos from the Crochet Coral Reef in Chicago and I just found these wonderful sea inspired necklaces from Helle Jorgensen. She finds her inspiration in the beautiful sea creatures from around the world. I’m really amazed with the unique handicraft. If your’re intersted in buying some of these items just take a look at her etsy shop - Gooseflesh.

Happy Birthday - JayJayFashion

Happy Birthday - JayJayFashionExactly one year ago I wrote my first blog article. I wanted a website to write about the fashion styles I like. The idea behind the name of JayJayFashion is - I wanted to write about styles I like, not in the usual sense of just clothing but the “fashion”, the manner or way that the item is made, its uniqueness and JayJay is from my first and middle initials. So now after writing one whole year I must say that I see my site heading into a the direction of still focusing on unique manner in and from life but keeping the ecological aspect of the style in mind. So stay tuned for more in the coming year.
