The sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg from Stolkhom Sweden, make up the act First Aid kit. They are 15 and 18 years of age which I think is really young considering the sound of their voices. I stumbled over their cover version of the Fleet Foxes Tiger Mountain Peasant Song which was filmed somewhere in the forest as a dedication to them. From then I aboulute fell in love with their feeling for harmonies. Sweet and simple. Check out the performances on youtube or myspace and get your hands on the album Drunken Trees.
Jazmine Sullivan just 21 years old with that special je ne sais quoi. Just take a look a the video here. A beautiful voice on the rise. One to watch she’ll be burning up the charts.

From a fashion designer to a furniture designer Pharrell does it all besides being a hiphop artist. Now collaborating with the french designers Domeau & Pérès he presents you “Perspective.” This chair with four legs literally, is a representation of the love between a woman and man. If you look closely or is it just my imagination it looks a little x-rated “doggy style”, like the woman is getting it from behind. Well, I guess that’s just my “Perspective” if you know what I mean. It will be available in a few colors and only 4 of each will be sold. For more information check out the Billionaire Boys Club. (via We heart stuff)
Tonight at the Highline Ballroom, New York, the wonderful, beautiful songstress Alice Smith.
Alice smith has already won critical acclaim for her debut album “For Lovers, Dreamers & Me”, been nominated by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 10 Artists to Watch in 2006 and received a Grammy award nomination 2007 under the Best Urban/Alternative category. Her talent has been compared to the likes of Norah Jones or Alicia Keys but I think she is really unique. Glad to see her finally get some more recognition. Her combination of soul funk and R&B with that southern drawl is really one of those albums that will stick with you and break up the mainstream.
Listen to her here at Alice’s myspace of visit her website.

TASCHEN Books has just announced Alison Jackson’s book “Confidential”. A student of London`s Royal College of Art she
astounded the world with her award-winning BBC TV series, “Double Take.”
Alison Jackson photographed what we think happened behind closed doors or what everybody in this world has thought could have happened. Her photographs include the Queen of England on the toilet, George Bush and Tony Blair chatting in the sauna, Jennifer Lopez getting her butt lift and even Monica Lewinsky lighting Bill Clinton’s cigar. If seeing is believing then watch out when you look at these photos.
Adama musical artist - one to watch! I found this musical beauty during a long webtrip. Listened to her on youtube and I really must say I like her style. My first thought was her voice reminds me of Sade but the great electro funky beats she sings to makes the difference and gets you dancing. Adama a face of a model and a strong voice to go with it. I’m sure the world will hear more of her soon. Until then check out Adama world. She might be singing on a stage near you.
Remember those large print T-Shirts that appeared in Wham’s video “Wake me up!” back in the 80ties. They’re baaacckk!
