In Germany Schrerenschnitte – paper cuts – as they are called are seen during Christmas and on various other holidays like St. Martinstag, present you beautiful, detailed, storytelling pictures.
Rob Ryan, an artistic genius from London, creates paper cuts and screen prints has stories to tell, too. I’m amazed at the wonders done with a knife as seen here on the skirt design created exclusively for Clothkits. The kit contains this a one of a kind, hand silkscreen printed, fabric design, thread, zip and instructions for cutting and sewing. Or just hang it up in your apartment.
I can only imagine, how many hours were spent cutting away at these shown here. If you would like to purchase other creations from Rob you can go to the etsy shop and check them out. (via angry chicken)

Kyoko Hashimoto has released the jewelery collection called “Seducing the Bowerbird”. As is stated in the lookbook the collection has influences from Art Deco jewelery, Victorian lace patterns and Japanese cartoon characters specifically Tamagocchi. Materials used in the collection are acrylic, polymer, wood and sterling sliver for the chains. I think the idea of a reversible necklace in black and white is really innovative.
Here you can take a peek at the Tamagocchi Pendant (Black & White), Baby Tamagocchi Pendant in Silver (Black & White) and Dinner Party Reversible Necklace from the lookbook which is available for your downloading pleasure.

Vibrant colors and patterns are two things I associate with Africa which are found in the fabrics. Sika Designs integrates them into beautiful fashion wear. Urban styles paired with these colorful West African textiles result in a collection of extravagant, wearable dresses and blouses. Each fabric print is hand made using traditional methods and natural substances thus creating a limited edition of each print. I’m looking forward to seeing more African textiles used by the fashion industry. Hopefully they will also be fair trade concepts like this designer and keep using the local market to generate an income for those people involved. (photo: Sika)
